Dawn is a fine artist working with contemporary drawing, photography and print.
Her abstract contemporary work is inspired by the impression that the natural environment makes upon us, particularly woodland environments. She uses media in innovative ways to draw focus to edited drawing, the layering of light and surface textures.
Dawn’s work is exhibited regionally and nationally. It can also be seen in the gallery adjacent to her studio and she will be holding an Open Studio Event as part of Notts Open Studios on 23rd and 24th May 2026.
Her studio is on the first floor above the Courtyard but Dawn is happy to make arrangements for viewing work in a fully accessible space.
Dawn also offers participatory arts workshops onsite and for groups in their own settings.
You can join her here for a full day learning the fascinating process of Cyanotype Making.
This is a wonderfully fun and relaxing day. Cyanotype making is the oldest form of photography, however, there’s no use of a camera and you don’t need the ability to draw. This workshop teaches you how to make art using light by arranging objects on studio prepared papers. You’ll see them change colour three times before your eyes in this exciting technique and take home a book of experiments and 4 greetings cards.
All materials are provided and there’s only four spaces per workshop – so there’s lots of time, space and tuition to help you get the most out of your day here at beautiful Thoresby Park.
