Current Vacancies:

Cleaner

Role: Cleaner
Reporting to: Property Manager
Salary: £13.21 per hour
Hours: 6 hours per week

We are looking for a reliable and motivated cleaner to join our friendly team at Thoresby Estate. This part-time role involves cleaning office spaces across the Estate twice per week, either in the evenings or early mornings, totalling approximately 6 hours per week.

There may also be occasional weekend opportunities to assist with the cleaning and preparation of Airbnb properties during busy periods.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning office spaces across the Estate twice per week
  • Supporting with cleaning Airbnb properties on an ad hoc basis
  • Reporting any maintenance or repair issues identified during cleaning
  • Monitoring and reporting low stock levels of cleaning supplies and consumables
  • Following all health and safety procedures and guidelines

Requirements:

  • Previous cleaning experience preferred
  • High attention to detail and a good standard of cleanliness
  • Flexible approach to working hours, including occasional evenings and weekends
  • Knowledge of cleaning products and equipment
  • Full UK driving licence required

This role would suit someone who takes pride in their work, has a good eye for detail, and is able to work independently. Due to the nature and location of the role, a full UK driving licence is essential.

Junior Forester (Entry Level)

We are seeking a motivated Junior Forester to join our Estates team. This is an ideal opportunity for someone interested in forestry, agriculture, or land management—particularly a college leaver or someone starting their career.

You will support the sustainable management of the Estate’s woodlands while gaining hands-on experience across forestry and estate work. Full training and development opportunities will be provided.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Assist with forestry operations (harvesting, planting, maintenance)
  • Support timber, sawmilling, and firewood production
  • Learn to operate tractors and estate machinery (training provided)
  • Assist with general estate maintenance and projects
  • Support customer orders and deliveries
  • Work as part of the Estates team and follow health & safety procedures

Person Specification: 

  • Interest in forestry, agriculture, or outdoor work
  • Relevant education helpful but not essential
  • Willing to learn and work in all weather conditions
  • Practical, reliable, and a good team player
  • Full UK driving licence essential

Desirable (training can be provided):

  • Chainsaw use
  • Machinery/tractor experience
  • Basic forestry knowledge

Estate Forester

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Forester to join our team. As a key member of our team, the Forester will assist in the sustainable management and conservation of the Estates woodlands. The successful candidate will be expected to carry out forestry operations and landscape care of the Estate and will also support the commercial value of the Estates forestry operations.

Duties:

  • Assist in the estate’s forestry harvesting, clearance works and timber extraction.
  • Assist in the establishment of forestry plantations: This including planting, weeding or cleaning.
  • Driving tractors with trailed or mounted implements ranging from mulchers and sprayers to flail mowers.
  • Support with the landscape management of the estate.
  • Assist with commercial sawmilling operations and with the estate’s firewood operation.
  • Liaise with customers for the fire wood enterprise, this may include taking orders, helping customers select the correct product taking payment.
  • Deliver goods purchased from the estate.
  • Assist with the redevelopment of the estate’s asset and ground works.
  • Operate the estate’s plant, such as forklifts, telehandlers and excavators.
  • Work flexibly within the Estates Team to provide support to other team members as required.
  • Adhere to health and safety procedures, providing a safe environment for staff and members of the public.
  • Undertake any other duties in line with the grade of the post requested by the management in order to meet short term requirements.

Requirements: 

  • Working at Heights qualification
  • RFS Certificate in Forestry or similar
  • Previous practical experience in Forestry
  • Good UK knowledge of Forestry Legislation
  • Competence in chainsaw use and maintenance
  • Climbing experience desired but not essential
  • Full UK driving licence

This role has a salary from £25,000 plus accommodation in a residential property on the Estate if required. Salary will be dependent on experience and qualifications.

Chef

Job Description:

We’re looking for a talented and passionate Chef to join our friendly catering team at the beautiful Thoresby Park. This is more than just a kitchen role, it’s an opportunity to be part of a welcoming environment where quality, teamwork, and pride in what we serve truly matter.

You’ll play a key part in creating delicious dishes that our guests will remember. From planning menus to delivering beautifully presented meals, your attention to detail and love of food will shine through in everything you do.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Preparing and cooking fresh, high-quality meals in a safe and timely manner
  • Contributing to menu planning and bringing creative ideas to the table
  • Grilling and preparing a range of dishes and light bites
  • Following recipes and presentation standards to ensure consistency
  • Keeping your workstation clean, organised, and fully compliant with health & safety standards
  • Supporting the smooth running of the kitchen, especially during busy services
  • Maintaining stock levels throughout your shift
  • Operating kitchen equipment safely and confidently
  • Assisting with cleaning duties, including dishwashing and general kitchen upkeep
  • Completing daily food safety and temperature reports

About You: 

  • Has previous experience working in a professional kitchen
  • Takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety
  • Enjoys working both independently and as part of a close-knit team
  • Is flexible and happy to work on a rota basis, including weekends and occasional evenings
  • Holds a driving licence (essential due to our location)
