At Thoresby Park we have signposted circular walks around our estate that are accessible to all. Wheelchair and pushchair friendly, the walk takes up to an hour…depending on your pace! Our circular walks take in the sights and sounds of the estate including St John’s Church.
There are marked opportunities to get off the beaten track and follow trails, look out for the abundance of wildlife in the forest and at our Bird Hide.
Visitors are welcome to play on the lawns and explore our beautiful park. Picnics are permitted, please remember to leave the park as found and take rubbish away with you (No BBQ’S allowed).
Footpath maps are available at the Thoresby Visitors Centre.
Dogs are welcome on the park but we ask they are kept on leads at all times.
Important Update:
On behalf of Thoresby Estate, we wish to express our gratitude for your loyalty and continued support of our park. We are privileged to possess such beautiful spaces and are fortunate to share them with the public; however, the park represents only a portion of the Estate. Our Forestry and Farming departments play a crucial role in preserving the estate and a balance in enabling local wildlife and farming sectors to thrive and grow. At times, this imposes the closure of certain operational areas to the public, allowing for the use of machinery or providing rest for the land. Consequently, the Estate has made the difficult decision to close the cherished Redwood trail. While we recognize that this decision may not be popular, as the guardians of the Estate, we strongly believe it is our duty to act in the best interest in the preservation of natural habitats in our care. We appreciate your understanding and continued support.
